does instagram SEO actually work?

We’ve seen some extra reach from using relevant keywords in captions and profiles, but it’s not always consistent, so we’re still testing what works.

Yes it does works but dont expect miracles is not like you build a link building campaign and get guess posts but more social media presence also help in ranking

Instagram seo does not actually play any role in growing and getting reach. At least in my experience I have got reach without doing seo for my account.
 
have you tried optimizing your bio keywords and using alt text on posts? because i noticed that accounts that consistently use niche tags and location in captions see a slight boost in discoverability, though the algorithm still favors engagement over pure SEO tricks
 
Definitely, IG is a high DR/DA platform so you should see some content if you really pinpoint keywords, Reddit enjoys the same type of effect.

That’s right; Instagram SEO optimization has become a key factor directly influencing an account's reach, especially among new users who do not yet follow you.
 
Keywords optimisation always helps. We can add keywords in Titles, description and caption to increase its visibility to targeted audience. I have witness organic growth with these startegies. So, go ahead.
 
Using the main keyword naturally in the caption can help Instagram understand what the post is about.
 
I’ve been wondering about this too. Especially whether keyword optimization actually drives consistent organic traffic from Google or if it’s mostly just a visibility boost with little impact on engagement.
 
What I have noticed is Instagram SEO is now far more important than before. Now as Instagram has its own in-app search feature, the optimised post/reels definitely comes in search results. Also, AI overview shows results in the form of reels suggestion from credible sites of influencers. Moreover, unlike normal posts that get no results on Instagram, SEO-optimised posts have higher chances of coming up in feed and get engagement. So both for short-term results and long term reach, Instagram SEO is important and should not be avoided.

Yes optimizing keywords works, and it makes your IG page discovered more.

Yes, the use of keywords would be helpful, but I wouldn’t force the caption to include them; sometimes it is more important the first line and user interaction.
