Does Instagram check for post metadata

Hi fellas, I wonder does Instagram know when I screenshot post from another IG page and re-post it? Does that affect the post reach? Or is it better to source post’s from other platforms? Please share your expierences

I don't think it hurts the engagement
(I used to reupload posts without any tweak in the automotive niche)

Since the fact you are reposting it may not get longer life but there are many accs reposting with relevant and they are just fine.

I still do repost people's post but it's always screenshot. Videos are downloaded too before posting.

Sometimes, my version of the post gets more engagement than the original post even when the original posting page has a higher follower count.

What you should be wary of is when posting people's original picture (their own products, picture of themselves, their work etc) is that sometimes these people tend to report to IG instead of coming to you tp request post removal. This doesn't apply to everyone though. You should know the kind of content to repost.

If you are reposting make sure you give credits to the OP or maybe sometimes you might face Copyright Claims as well,Rest is all good and reach for repost accounts is actually high if you are posting trending and viral content.

Usually there are networks of big accounts which have groups and they do manipulate sometimes what goes viral and what doesn't.Also one of the simplest way is to have a few accounts in the same niche and see what's going in the explore and if you see one content that is in explore for all of your accounts then definately that post is going viral in simple terms.

Checking the engagement vs time and a little analysis of that niche also helps as an addition.
