Does HTML5 Semantic affect SEO?

I am using a page builder for my site and I'm going back doing all the on-page optimizations that I have learned here. I was trying to edit some post I made to change the H1 H2 H3 but I found there isn't an option to do it but instead there's <header data-id...> after searching around I found this is HTML 5 Semantic but all the articles I have read are still unsure if it has any effect on SEO (they're a few years old articles).

Anyways, since I can't put in H1, H2, etc. in my post, would using the HTML5 Semantic be a good substitute to this? Does this give the same information as H1, H2 to the search engine? Since my page is filled with posts, I'm trying to figure out a way to make the keywords in my post stand out to the search engines.

Thanks!!
