Does host affect SEO?

simple question, simple answer: yes.

someone said use cloudflare. great idea. do that first. unless you're linking to ips or domains on your server that aren't behind cloudflare, you should be fine.

Speed and accessibility is the main factor. If you're behind a cloudflare CDN, the IP rating would matter litte in SEO, as the cloudflare CDN will be the public facing host and it has millions of websites. It would only matter if you use it to email directly, as IP reputation is a factor in spam filters.
 
Indeed it will affect your SEO. With Cloudflare less of a problem, but with host provider it can make your site slower.
On upside of things, it can make your site even better with 'better' host provider
 
Not so much, focus on Backlinks + Content + popularity . Just go for the hosting you want, cloudflare is a good option.
 
If hosting server is slow it can affect your seo ranking and user experience so get reliable fast hosting service..

What do you mean email to it directly?
 
not to it, from it. To email from a site, you need MX records, and it can reveal the IP address. Hence the IP reputation and neighbours become relevant.

So basically use proton mail for business needs?
 
Most shared hosting is very bad, messing up your performance.

Yes host affect SEO but not too much.
