Does high MOZ Spam score affect your ranking?

Hello BHW,

One of my website has a high MOZ Spam score and I'm thinking to buy MOZ in order to find out which backlinks increased that Spam score and then try to take them down.
One of the big questions here is, if for the backlinks that I can't manually take down, is worth to use google disavow tool? They really deindex them? Will that help on better ranking?
Also, the title is the other question.

Never got affected once - The spam score is shitty to me TBH
 
I think it's a safety metric but not a great way to assess the quality of a site. The only way to measure quality is by rankings.

Don't know about their new spam score, but at least the previous one was shitty.

If you would inspect most of the links that they marked as spam, they were not.

Yes you are right, I saw that and this is why I'm asking for BHW opinions, coz I'm not really convinced that cleaning the MOZ spam score would help. But your answers just convinced me to forgot about that silly job.

Although most spam links are now ineffective - it doesn't really contribute of negate anything at the moment, if you are thinking of cleaning your link profile, then yes, the Moz spam score does show you spam links, or suspected spam links that your site has.
Still, cleaning these link profiles can be secondary - as long as Big G isn't flagging your site as the result, then there's really no issue, but if your site is flagged by Big G due to one of these links, you may disavow or remove the links.

Like, if your site does not have a contact page, you get a spam score of 1, if your site has a low amount of inbound links you get another spam score and the list goes on.

So, find out the reasons and solve them. When Moz refreshes their data after 1-3 months you will see 0 spam score on your site.

That if you care about the so called 'spam score'.

MOZ now refreshes every day, after the upgrade to their new link checker and bigger index. At least that is what they say.
 
i would not rely solely on moz's metrics. They are deeply flawed and only their best guest at what THEY think is spam - not Google. You should judge the site by how it ranks in Google search for the keywords you're interested in.

You trying to rank on moz out Google? They all these 3rd party tools are just an attempt at getting some info on your donation, Google has all the stuff so you could disavow links from moz and still get a penalty
 
no need to think about moz spam abou,because moz got their own data base and google or bing got their own data base,
so one don't know what about another.just try to never spam in google and bing that's the key to rank any site
