Im looking for anyone who had content on multiple sub-domains who can please tell me if all got hit at the same time.

Im trying to see if segmenting content onto different sub domains (by topic, since in theory subdomains are considered different websites) would help reduce the risk of losing everything in updates even if they wont rank as fast.

I have reason to believe they dont get affected equally but id really like someone elses input or anecdotes.

Thanks for any answers.

Technically as per google each subdomain is treated as different property for ranking purposes. So it wont impact the all sub domains if one get penalized. If you are not doing hardcore PBN links and content and keyword stuffing, you are good to go.

But in some cases where we do some spam stuff, Google can penalize the whole domain and subdomains, telling you from experience.

Interesting.
For HCU classifiers, I don't know if it is domain-wide or not. It will be a good case study.
I vote for domain-wide without any proof.

Thanks for the answers, I was in the progress of running a test and tbh, my HCU websites subdomains are ranking horrible compared to the same test on new domains.

Was hoping this wouldnt be the case, maybe this would not be the case if it had many subdomains from the start, but im doubtful that would have been significant difference.

Google really destroying entire brand names for reasons barely understood and hard to fix.

Logically it would seem that they would isolate subdomains, or else a website builder site could be taken down just by a couple subdomains being spammy.
However, there's very little logic in what Google has been doing lately, so I can't really say...

Google logic is this: keep the folks away from the elite, means big sites who are members of WEF like google . Not give folks the same rights as "them" . So they will always stay beyond us.

So we " the goyims" jump back and side , to make a decent living.
This is the reason why Google doing this.
