I have several similar sites , and they are all under the same search console account.
Some of them get sandboxed immediately some of them get their impressions to 0

it got me thinking maybe having them all under the same account can be a bad thing ?
im not sure , would love to get your opinion

It is not because of this reason. The quality of seo is important and most probably you are ignoring that aspect.

Having multiple sites under the same Google Search Console account won't directly harm SEO, as each site's performance is analyzed individually. However, improper management or overlapping content can cause confusion. Ensure clear organization and focus on optimizing each site independently for the best results.

In the past, I had 4 websites in 2 different GSC.
One got manual penalty, other nope.
In another GSC one got manual penalty and, after one month, the other too.

So I don't know honestly

I don't think it can badly affect your websites, it's just a feature they offer...if your website was somehow affected, this is not the likely reason

This thread raises a valid concern about managing multiple websites under the same Google Search Console (GSC) account. Here's a summary and clarification:

Key Points:
Separate Performance Analysis: Google evaluates each site's performance individually, regardless of being in the same GSC account. Having multiple sites in one account is not inherently harmful.

Sandboxing and Zero Impressions: These issues are more likely tied to SEO quality, duplicate content, or Google detecting similarities in site themes or backlinks. Focus on improving site-specific SEO and avoiding footprints.

Manual Penalties: As one user mentioned, penalties for one site can sometimes lead to scrutiny of others under the same account. While it's not a direct cause, sharing a GSC could highlight similar practices across sites, increasing risks.

Best Practices:

Separate Accounts for High-Risk Sites: If you have experimental or niche sites, consider managing them in separate GSC accounts.
Unique Content and Strategy: Ensure each site has distinct, high-quality content and its own backlink strategy.
Avoid Linking Too Closely: Avoid using the same hosting, Whois data, or interlinking sites excessively.
Would you like further help with optimizing or structuring your sites to minimize risks?

Adding several sites to Google Search Console won't affect SEO & not at all a bad thing, Less worries

It doesn't affect SEO negatively if you're asking about this.

Several sites under the same search console account doesnot affect seo. Penalties or rankings are site-specific unless cross-linking appears manipulative. Ensure each site has unique content because Google treats each site independently.

I won't take the above comments as a rule of thumb.
The truth is that nobody knows how G works.
Just in case I would open a new GSC account and make a test.
