Hey guys,

What do you think if it's possible to learn graphic design or you must be talented?

I am talking more about logo creation and but I am not talking about the logos which are created in 10 minutes with some simple logo creation software.

In one YT video, I saw how logo was created by drawing with hand on the paper some simple logo and turning it into the amazing piece using adobe illustrator, and now I am wondering if some regular person could learn how to do it or you must have a talent for such designer jobs like logo creation?

To learn how to use adobe products is not hard and I think everybody could learn it, but what about the logo idea, creativity, how to draw the logo which would look amazing and the client would be amazed too.

when you put in the effort enough time to learn you will probably have the talent.
It also depends on which level you aim. if you aiming to work with multi-million dollar companies I guess you should have a talent or at least hire a talented guy to be on your side.
If you are aiming for 1k/2k a month than you can purchase a membership on a ogo generators sites and sell it on Fiverr.
Not sure if it's easy or not. I never dealt with graphics.

And what do you mean a regular person? we are all regular persons. no one is special. (Besides elon musk, he is an alien)

Thanks for your answer.

I am talking about $200+ per logo, where you using, not some logo generator, but your creativity, illustrator, creating the logo with the hand, totally unique product. It's interesting if it's possible to learn 'creativity' OR you don't need creativity and you just take some ideas and inspirations from other works?

Take ideas from others. even well-known fashion designers get ''inspired'' from other designers.

I myself have always had a good eye for details and design. My sister, mother and father as well. So I think the deep deep talent and eye for design is somewhat in your DNA but I would say about 70-80% can be learned by hard work. But that 20-30 % will always be between you and the top 1%. I myself have those 20-30% I would say but from the hard work I only have 30-40% cauz I do not love working hard with creativity and I need my free space in my head.

That is a very high price point, and yes to get this amount of money for a logo and to be able to get to this level, you need talent.

Me for example, i am using photoshop for years, i know every little feature, i can perfectly edit any image to look the way i want "in theory"

i have the technical knowledge to get it there, but not the artistic hand to actually make it happen, so the end result - is NOT a masterpiece, not something that i would pay for or want on my money site, and i am not gimp.

You do need natural talent for high level design, unless you want to be "just another designer" - many design like shit, and get hired and get paid, that's a fact.

I have noticed that usually the people that have a talent for drawing since youth become great designers (the best ones that i personally know - 5 people, all draw)

Talented with passion is a must, otherwice your just gona be a graphic wannabe like thousands of the people that sells bad shit to people that don´t now better .. Please be talented if your going to enter that niche or do something else where your talents works out .. =)

.

Talent never hurts, but it's about overall experience and knowledge that will make you a good designer. Follow design sites, analyse designs you like to try to figure out what you like about them and you'll start seeing patterns in design, read lots of design books, etc.

Over time as you improve, designs you did years ago that you thought were amazing at the time will look terrible to you now. That will be the moment you will appreciate how much you've learnt. Just don't be too hard on yourself during the early days.

I never knew that Graphic Designing would be something I would have any interest in. It was something absolutely not related to my field but I designed a couple of things for a project and that captured my interest. From there I started with Corel Draw then jumped to Photoshop and Illustrator. So I would say that if you have an interest in this field and you are happy doing this, learn and start designing. Obviously it will take time before you get the required experience and actually start earning but then we all start from somewhere.

A natural “eye” for design certainly helps, but the concepts that you need to learn to understand how to convey a particular effect or achieve a particular result with a design can be taught. I knew someone who went to school for it for four years, so going by their experiences, I feel confident telling you that you can train it.

I agree with the others. I believe it can come from both. Having a good eye for details plus how much dedication you put into your work comes a long way.
