Does Goooogle penalize for copying content?

Hi guys,

Just curious on this topic. I run a basketball website and have got a fair bit of competition around. I notice some sites just scrape material from another site and claim it as their own.

Of course writing your own content is the best option but does google penalize this sort of behaviour? It's obviously an easy way to create content.

Thoughts?

Yes, the big "G" looks down on "copied" content horribly. I have heard people state that have been "sandboxed" because of this, along with other things. I would suggest that you write original content, or at least quality spun content in order to keep "G" happy.

Generally the penalty is Google ignores your posts and so, no rank love.
However I have had some success by copying the article or part of it, giving them the credit and also adding a few sentences of my own, a picture and or a video. A sort of curation
You can also check with unique article wizard, they have a plugin which will drip feed spun content to your site. But you do need to go over the articles and touch them up a bit.

When using partially copied content I never use adsense and generally keep affiliate links to a minimum

Do you know what the plugin is called? And are there any other free article spin plugins or programs?

my idea is always to have a original & unique content which appeals practically to end users. we do all SEO and other works to bring traffic. right? once traffic achieved in order to maintain the quality and get repeat visitors all we need unique content.
