I accidentally started off link building to my money site kind of weird. I sent 4 branded links to my homepage, but then 7 or 8 keyword targeted links to one of my inner URLs. But I am thinking that I should have sent branded keyword anchors to the inner URL as well. I think I also may have messed up by only linking to two pages with the first 15 or so links. As of now, these are the only links I have going to that site. Before I add more links, I am thinking I should send some branded web 2.0 links to the inner page that I targeted (with the 7-8 keyword targeted anchors) as well as the rest of the site to make it seem more natural. Does this seem right?

So my question is: Does google view each url as having its own "Link profile" or do they look at the link profile of the site as a whole?

sorry about my bad english, and looking for help.

It does look at which pages get links, but it also looks at the overall link profile of the domain. It's not unusual for some inner pages to get more links than others, or even the homepage.

What do you mean by keyword targeted links? Your anchor profile shouldn't have more than 10-15% exact match keywords used, and i think you are off at the moment, so yeah, build some more brand/lsi/generic links.

You need to build links separately for the inner pages to rank it for the particular terms and google will consider backlinks of both (domain and page) when ranking a page. I would suggest adding lsi/targeted term with brand anchor when linking a inner page to avoid cannibalization for the brand keyword.

yes it does however, the overall link profile of the domain has a carryover too.
