Does Google see your .htaccess file?

I want to block ahrefs, majesticseo and similar tools with .htaccess on my money site, so that my competitors cannot see my backlinks. However, I'm afraid that if Google sees that I'm blocking these tools on my site, this could be a footprint for Google that I'm doing blackhat SEO and then my website could get penalized.

Does Google crawl .htaccess files?

Blocking ahrefs, majesticseo on your money site won't stop them from finding your backlinks. To fully hide your links you'd have to also block them on the sites with links pointing to your money site.

No it can't, it's hidden and not available to the public (bots, spiders, visitors, etc...)

The '.' indicates the hidden and crawl won't scan that
