Does Google react slower than Bing now?

New to this subreddit so this could be obvious for you already.

I start to revamp my 17+ year website and keep tracking of how Google and Bing picked up my updated website. I did the same thing on both side: submit URL when it is in production.

So far Bing had found my updated site and got me about 600 impressions per day for about one week now, but Google is slow and basically did nothing until today where finally one of the updated pages is indexed and start to see small amount of impress ~ 10. Is this normal or I need to do something extra for Google? I heard search quality is better at Google but so far at least I got decent traffic from Bing.

That can happen, Google can take longer to recrawl and process updated pages, especially on a larger/older site.
 
Yes from decade Google crawlers always crawls best websites which naturally takes time. Whereas Bing crawlers and other search engines show results quick as compared to Google. Earning a good backlink in search console is difficult as compared to Bing and any other search engine.
 
google can behave and rank you slowly but you must keep in mind that in world more than 70% of search volume belongs to google so everybody wants to rank in google,

Yes, I saw that too. the issue here with bing is that they will be able to cope with all the change much faster than google, but still, google should not be judged after just one week.
 
Google strictly favors authority sites. That's the reason there is always parasites ranking on Google. On top of that, they put crawl limits to low-authority sites. So, it's difficult for new sites to get indexed and rank.
 
google prefers authority sites STRICTLY authority sites, that is one of the reason why its always hard to rank sites on Google while on other hand bing can sometime rank your new sites
 
Nothing special is required just because Bing picked the changes up first. Request Indexing only puts the URL into Google’s indexing queue, it doesn’t mean Google will process it immediately

Since you’re revamping an old site, I’d make sure the updated URLs are in the sitemap with correct lastmod dates and are linked normally from the site, rather than manually resubmitting everything over and over

For any page that stays behind, URL Inspection is more useful than comparing it with Bing. It’ll show whether Google has actually crawled the new version and which canonical it selected, which gives you something specific to troubleshoot instead of just waiting blindly
 
Yep, pretty normal. Google can be slower than Bing after a site revamp. Just keep the sitemap, internal links and indexing requests clean and give it some time.

well, quite common. bing might be able to find the changes faster, but I would say that it is much too soon for you to begin analyzing the changes google makes.
 
I don’t think it’s unusual Google can take some time to pick up bigger site changes especially when a lot of pages were updated I’d give it a bit more time before changing anything else
 
google used to take 3 days to index my pages earlier.
now it just takes under an hour.
for popular news sites it takes just 2-3 minutes after publishing an article.
 
Bing can sometimes pick up changes noticeably faster especially after a major site refresh. With Google I’d avoid rushing into extra changes and first watch indexing crawling and impressions for a few weeks.

Yes, I have observed the same thing. For Google, I would give it some time to settle down and check the indexing and impressions on GSC.

I agree, particularly following the big update on several sites. It would be a good idea to check Google Search Console data for a few weeks prior to making more changes.
 
Yes, that can happen sometimes, google may take longer to pick up big site changes, so you should give some time before worrying about this.

yes, that is one of the possibilities, particularly considering the website revamp that has been carried out. i would not do anything until the situation become clear to Google’s gsc tool.
 
That can happen. Google may take longer to reassess updated pages, especially on older sites.

I’d keep the sitemap clean, use internal links to the updated pages, and give it a bit more time before changing anything else.
