Does Google perform traffic shaping?

Hi, i have noticed a weird behavior in one of my website.
The keyword serp position is always the same but the visitors dropped about 60% stable
How can this be possible? I think should be some sort of traffic shaping.
Does this make sense?

Most sites attract traffic from not just one keyword, but from many different keywords.

Can it be that the rankings for some other keywords have disappeared?

Or - perhaps it is a bug in your rank checker?

Or - perhaps it is a bug in your web analytics software that shows you your traffic stats.

Believe me: all software has bugs from time to time.

traffic comes from 1 keyword. same serp position, used 3 different stats systems.
I can confirm a 60% traffic drop and as well lower convertions.
This is definitely a proof of G traffic throttling, it seems G is now dynamically changing the serp positions to balance the traffic against its algo.

They do this, I'm 100% sure, it's either a threshold or throttling. I get same traffic every day, some queries vanish others appear. Bunch of planks...

check to see if the way google instant comes up with words has changed

have seen noticeable shifts in traffic depending what instant leads to

alternatively, they are known to do split testing every so often.

I think they tweak traffic to balance adsense /adwords clickthrough or something like that. there is no reason to other than this imho.

G instant is the same. First position for that keyword.
