Hi,

Does anyone knows if Google knows what happens inside Facebook profiles ?

If I check the Google cached versions of Facebook pages I see that the content is being scanned, but what about Facebook profiles.

The cached versions of those profiles showing nothing from the content of the page, even for profiles that are open for the public, but I would like to know if Google has some technique to see those public profiles content (likes, shares...).

Theoretically they can, but it's difficult to tell if they do it.

Officially, search engine bots can not crawl and index any password-protected content.. Dunno what practically happens..

Yeah I think most websites you have to login to view private feeds google cannot crawl.

Google can only scrap what is made public without log in information.

Bing has access to that info, as they cooperate with Facebook.
Google probably doesnt.

Google does not scrape info from Facebook, it is password protected. Same goes with bank accounts.
I wonder if NSA and FBI can do this? Maybe it is illegal if they are doing it..

Depends of your security settings. Google spider can only access what the public can. If it had a profile an you friended it then yeah sure.

Thanks for all the answers.

So if we assume that Google does not do it because its illegal, but they still want to use the data of the URLs shared on Facebook, how will they do it ?
