can you find old domains that have not existed for a long time, go to archive and copy paste their content straight into your money site?
does google "forget" these sites ever existed, or they hold these somewhere in their database and it's still considered duplicate content?

If I google a few phrases from these articles, they don't show up so obviously they are not in the main index. but is there a backup index where they hold shit like this?

I am looking for people who have actually experimented with this. what was your result? were you able to rank?

I had a whole PBN made up of sites filled with that kind of content. It worked well for me for 2 years before getting deindexed. Although I'm almost positive that the content was not the reason. If setting up a new PBN I'd fill it the same way.

Google eventually deindexes content, if you're planning on using sites that have not been around for like 5 or 10 years there's a 99% chance it's been deindexed and you're safe.

I have took things off Google that have been all over Google and ranked it well above the original source.

Too many people talk about Google as though Google is a person, and Google can think, Google is not and cannot. It is a program, and all programs can be gamed.

If the content is deindexed then its free to use again... I usually use these content for Guest posting on other blogs....

Exactly ^^ and google is developed by humans. No human invention is even close to perfect.

Eventhough I haven't tested this but I'm 99% sure that Google saves all the content in its index.

I won't be surprised if Google even spiders websites like archive.org.

You made a great point!

Check out the robots.txt of archive.org. It disallows every spider from crawling, even G. So if G is behaving, then it cannot crawl archive.org. The bigger issue would be copyright - but the question I've always had is if it says "content is copyright thiswebsite.com 2008" and you own "thiswebsite.com" wouldn't you also own the copyright? hmmm.
