I've recently started to build high quality backlinks, and yesterday my site went from page 9 to nowhere for a specific keyword. I've only added 14 backlinks, from very good sources. For other keywords it is still on page two.

Of course the dance exists. It's only a weaker dance if you have an older site.

If your keyword was based around a payday loan it might explain your dance... or really it might be a drop.
search on the forum and you can read about the payday algorithmic update that rolled out. it affected a variety of saturated niches.

but to answer your question. yes of course the google dance exists. my sites will occasionally dance for a day and return.

Google dance 24/7 and 365 days. If your site is new then its normal.

If your site is reasonably new and you add links it will dance about until it (Hopefully) rises to a higher position. So I guess by definition that's a dance.

The monthly Google Dance where all sites would shuffle at the same time died years and years ago, things are more fluid now! :)

Don't build too many to keywords, and continue building at a steady pace. The dance should only be temporary.

Looks like its just a dance, wait a little and see what happens

I did reply to you earlier but i thought i would tell you again - there is a google dance going on right now. some sort of update mate. but don't be too worried the SERPS tend to come back fairly quickly (if you weren't affected by an algo update).
