Today I got an email from the owner of Ardor Backlinks, and the following snippet made for an interesting read:
Guest posts can be problematic

According to Matt Cutts, Guest posts can be problematic:

"If people just move away from doing article banks or article directories or article marketing to guest blogging and they don't raise their quality thresholds for the content, then that can cause problems."

I have been running a white hat blog for just over a year now, and have had numerous guest posts - each with unique content, which passes all S.E.O checks. I always double-check the quality of each posts and run each of them through reviews and the Yoast S.E.O plugin before they are published. I always remind each guest author of the quality I expect from them - and the fact they will gain some good reputation for it.

Matt Cutts and his team probably approve of my blog since I have a backlink from his official blog (albeit a n0f0ll0w one). Then again, that theory is probably nonsense...

Anyway, what are your thoughts?
