Generally, domains have bigger expansion capabilities, but you will need to work for them. Don't expect once you switch the traffic to start flowing by itself

Google loves ".blogspot.com" - and it ranks faster and better.

Google has nothing against .blogspot. But in the long-term you want to be heading towards a .com domain. In my experience they rank better and have more authority.

Can you be more specific? What's the issue with "blogspot.COM"?

If you are only talking about blogspot, then NO. But having a domain and a custom website gives you more flexibility not only on the design, but also on the content. You can also be assured that you won't get banned, unless you are doing something which is considered illegal. So, choose it...

blogspot is good for starter site and for tier1, but for money site a .com has a better potential in the long run
