unless you rebill them after the free trial period, there's not much to itHello all!
As some Instagram service providers give free trials to test their services. Im wondering if free trials in this business really helps to get a better conversion?
It's like a demand and supply logic if there is less demand, if I can supply like 20 units and only 10 units are demanded I can giveaway 5units for free it doesn't even matter. BTW most software as service and similar services don't have a huge capital and by giving away stuffs for free you don't actually loose any money, investment is just put in making software and server most service provider code on their own(actually they are reseller) only first few sales gives back the investment amount so giving away is not a big deal. Remember first rules of marketingBut as a IG service provider its difficult to distinquish your service from others right? Because almost all service providers are providing the same quality of IG profiles in my opinion. And a free trial cost money for the service provider so do they really earn the money back of the free trials?
I’ve also used the $1 down option and found that it performs much better than the “free trial”Depends what you are doing and how long you have been doing it. I don't offer free trials as just generates a lot of additional work. People grab a free trial, don't really intend to buy it, ask a tonne of questions. Also there is the psychology of worth. Even a nominal fee ($1) which has the option of 100% refund gives the product worth in the eye (mind) of the customer and are more incentive to make it work as they have bought it - they want it to work. Something free, at the first hurdle tend to give up - it was free after all.
Maybe you lose a few sales - sure. But you also lose a load of time wasters, which if you are dedicated to providing quality support to all promptly is more important than losing a couple of sales IMO

Think about it, in the sales process you want them to be constantly giving you a micro “yes” at every step. By getting them to pay you even $1 you’re still getting them to say “yes, I’m willing to pay this person”
These small yes’ make the big yes in the end much easier to get.
Thank you for your message Aveil and Faabsservice.
Are there more people who think like this? And can a service provider confirm this?
Exactly this. You have separated those who are actually prepared to pay you (something - the initial amount doesn't matter) from those who haven't overcome that mental hurdle. They are prepared to pay. They want your program / service to work, they will read the documentation and follow instructions, they will contact support with an actual question if they have an issue and then follow your instructions. If your service delivers they are in the bag already.
An online service I trialled putting out, getting free signups to follow simple instructions was insane. "enter your username / password" you would think this was simple, but you wouldn't believe how many failed at this step. I could only assume they didn't assign any worth to the service, so something worth $0 is not worth reading the 10second instructions.
For small businesses without the excess staff to handle this free trials are a big waste of time. I will never offer them ever again. Ever a nominal payment as detailed above for online services, or full price applications with a good refund period - no reason necessary.
If you got ranked on free trial keywords, I would still do the $1 trial. It’s only $1 and all the bullshitters will be weeded out. You’re not obligated to do anythingBut what if the service provider just started his business and he only gets ranked on "free trial" keywords? He is obligated to deliver his free trials right? Otherwise he wouldn't get sales?
Make it 10c. Hell, it might even work with 1c. The idea is get the customer to cross the barrier of paying "something".But what if the service provider just started his business and he only gets ranked on "free trial" keywords? I wanted to upvote this, but seems BHW doesn't have upvote any more or I am going blind. If you got ranked on free trial keywords, I would still do the $1 trial. It’s only $1 and all the bullshitters will be weeded out. You’re not obligated to do anything
