Does getting backlinks for a YT video really help?

I'm not an expert, but I've read that Google likes to see YT backlinks since they own them (for seo purposes). Also if you have a video that's getting views its great for traffic.
 
Yes! But the video itself needs some juice. I do this all the time for clients. Some of my videos have a PR 5 and the good news is, once they become popular they usually rank well also. So you get the video pointing to the money site, and you get the video thumbnail showing up in Google for your keyword.

Yes it does, it helps you in a way that your video will shop up in Google searches for your keyword.
Building backlinks for videos is great if you are going to promote products, because people will mostly search for product reviews and to check if product is scam.

As you can see at the position #7 there is a youtube video. that video will not get better ranked on YouTube for keyword, but it will on Google, and the Google is, obv., way more important because people on YouTube are mostly looking for fun, not for buying.

As you can see on that video which i took for an example, video has been uploaded on 24th Jun this year and with only 500 views he already beat the web site : http://www.hghalftimereport.com/ which is already 4 years old !!!!!!
 
Its not essential.

A lot of people think of views as backlinks - so each view is a backlink. The more you buy the better.

And the YouTube videos can be ranked just with backlinks? I mean, is it like building backlinks for the money site?

Not sure what you mean, but a view is definitely not counted as a back link.
 
If I buy buy backlinks for it, it will only rank it better on google? And not YT?

Correct. We optimize videos for Google, not Youtube. If it does well in Youtube, then great but that's not the goal. The views will come from organic search.
 
Yes, backlinks work very well for YT videos. It's kind of the opposite of how ranking your websites work. With a site, you usually choose to find niche keywords to rank and stay clear of the popular searches. With YT, you should go with what people are searching for...the usual weight loss, etc niches. Like it was said before, building links to videos is for ranking in Google, the idea is that you'll get more views and then it will rank on YT. Also, the quality of the links doesn't matter the way it does for sites. Low quality links from sources such as scrapebox, xrumer, etc work wonders for them.
 
Don't really think its worth it then.. I will probably just spend the money to boost the views and such
 
In my case backlink is not necessary, I just buy views to fiverr and use vagex
and my KW ranks.
 
I'm pretty sure it's not the backlinks that help a YouTube video rank, it's the Likes and Views that would tend to improve a YouTube's ranking. That and the relationship between the Title and the search query.
 
Views = improve YouTube rank
Backlinks = improve position of video in SERPS

Both have advantages just depends what you are using the video for
 
Till now i have add only 4 video for my site in youtube and they get page rank automatically after some time as video shown in suggestions for other videos but if you want to rank it , then i think you have to build back links + use good title , desc ans tags ....
 
Obviously backlinks effect the SERP position of Youtube videos.
 
absolutely build backlinks to your YouTube videos. the more popular a YouTube video becomes, the more Google loves it, and you will be able to rank this video very easily in the top 5 of Google. a bonus with this is that you will have a thumbnail image within the Google searches. There are videos that are givin very high page rank.
