I started off doing free plus 9.99 then I cut it to 4.99, but I'm still getting a 100% cart abandonment rate.

They're really digging this one product, it's getting a lot of engagement, and has a really good click through rate, but it's just not converting after add to cart.

The only upside is that I'm building my email list.

Yeah. I run ppe test ads, and scale if I get enough unique clicks. My add to cart conversion is insanely high, it just plummets after checkout.

I think I might need to change up my approach. I'll probably just do a price reduction promotion, that way the conversions are less likely to fall off.

Hmm, I kinda wish this wasn't moved. This was more of a general marketing question, that's not necessarily specific to drop shipping.

Anyways, I changed my approached to reduced price, advertising products as 70% off. Obviously, my CTR has dropped significantly, but I'm not getting the enormous ATC bounce rate anymore.

I'm also experimenting with IG influencers. I have to be careful though, because I got burned pretty bad when I first used one. I thought 300k followers would bring crazy traffic in.

I looked up an average story swipe through rate, and the average story view rate per followers. I even created a calculator on an excel spread sheet to crunch the numbers, and everything looked good, but I only got 40 visitors from a 24hr story! I thought I could trust the numbers, but I have to be more thorough who I work with next time.

I guess you've probably tried it but since you didn't say -
1. Have you tried any of those reminder plugins for carts ?
2. In your initial plan do you state that they have to pay shipping ? If you list an item for free and then at the last step the customer sees a price this might be a huge turnoff.
3. What about the targeted audience ? If you are targeting say like children then they probably dont have paypal/stripe. This is something I've noticed with a lot of toys selling websites most kids will add things to the shopping cart only to be rejected by their parent and just leave it there.
4. How does your store look like ? If you are only offering free items with pay shipping it may look scamy. Make sure you regular items.

I wouldn't recommend it.. BUyers nowadays are not that stupid to fall for it.
I would do something like order two or more and save on shipping
ORR Free shipping on ordered = 50$.

Yeah, I sent abandoned cart notifications.

No, that's probably a reason why it didn't convert.

Yeah, I didn't target anyone younger than 20.

I had some regular and some free plus shipping.

Yeah, nobody was biting. The reduced price is working a lot better for me. I paid an IG influencer and got a couple sales, so I'm optimistic. Facebook ads don't seem to be working well for me. I'm spending a lot of money testing, but I haven't found that "winner" yet.
