Does Following Hashtags help?

Hey Guys!
I’ve been seeing some Instagram Accounts that follow niche-specific hashtags that they would also use in their posts.
I believe the idea behind that is to categorize their account inside of that niche.
Does that work or does anybody here have any experience in this and does it do anything other than show you content in that niche?

Following a hashtag does not help you in any way other than just giving you content ideas.

Personally I do it but I can't tell if he works or not. This could play in the IG account suggestions
 
I tried this with several accounts but didn't see any change.

But then knowing what hashtags are most followed helps you in using them for your own posts which can be then seen by a huge number of people.
So, keep the trending hashtags a part of your hashtag research but following/not following them won't make much of a difference.
 
It doesn't do any good. But the massive use of tags in your posts - it does. Especially if you are using super bulk tagging services.
