yes it does and that's also a reason why some tend to use fake followers at the beginning to push it a bit, although I wouldn't recommend using a bunch of fake followers straight away since that does more harm than actual profit.
you can get an idea what your organic growth is especially during unfollowing periods. whenever you're gaining a good amount of followers during unfollowing, you're doing it right imo.
Using the same settings and the same users to scrape followers from, you can clearly see that you gain slightly more followers each cycle. when you first start out, it's always harder and when you get it rolling you immediately see how your fb rate starts to increase.
this does also depends a bit on the niche you're in.
