Does fake traffic help seo?

If it did i would just keep launching new adsets on FB. Every time I do they send thousands of bots to my pages

Fake traffic is needed if you want to alter your website's stats (bounce rate, unique visitors etc). Nothing more, nothing else.

What kind of fake traffic?

Unique residential IP's or some blacklisted server-farm IPs?

Users logged in and having real looking accounts? With valid human looking cookies? Or fake headless bots?

Easily detected selenium bots or actual real-looking web browsers?
 
Fake traffic can be identified easily (especially by Google). Do not do that.

I sometimes consider buying fake traffic to support my real-world efforts - especially if I'm building an organic traffic site that could take weeks or even months to see results. Seems very consistent, and will gradually exit it when the actual traffic starts.
 
Don't do it, Google can easily detect not traffic, will be a waste of money and cause harm.
