when a user 'likes' something, a message is sent to the feed, but only an one-liner and it doesn't even appear in the mainstream news feed. Sure it remains a permanent part of the profile, that shouldn't matter when everyone has thousands of links pointing out. How can this drive traffic? I mean, when you share something, it has full picture and description, plus your personal message, and my experience with it has been 10% CTR. Can't imagine the CTR for something as crappy as a "like". Of course, it's easier to get users to "like" things than to "share" things, for obvious psychological reasons. Is it worth the effort though? What have your experiences been?
