hi,

I have an asian music news and bollywood movies website

I am going to be launching a new section which is for celebrity profiles within this entertainment sector, the advice i am looking for is if I i create a profile page with gallery etc... on our website for a musician lets call him Angel Singh if i then register the domain angelsingh do t i n f o (with permission from the artist to avoid copyright problems) and redirect that domain to mysite/AngelSingh would angelsingh do t i n f o domain rank on google? or is there another way to do this? or is it just best to leave it to mysite/AngelSingh ?

Redirected domain, page will not rank in Google.

I would recommend doing mysite/AngelSingh

I have seen t-i-ny.cc "pages" ranking...although not for long.

  1. If the redirected domain uses a 302 redirect, yes it can rank (and I've seen cases of this)
  2. If the redirected domain uses a 301 redirect, no it will not rank

It's important to know what the different kinds of redirects are.

Only a 301 redirect will give link juice to the target of the redirect.

Use the 301 permanent redirection and also dont forget to change from google webmaster tools
tks
