Yes, Pinterest has copyright, so just because an image is there doesn’t mean you can freely download and use it however you want.

Of course, content on Pinterest is protected by copyright. However, Pinterest’s content moderation is not as strict as that of other platforms.Just because it’s on Pinterest doesn’t mean I can download it and use it however I want

And as an artist, how beneficial is it for me to share my content if it isn’t very well protected?

You don't share your art work just for a monetary value, you promote to get the recognition of the website profile link that goes along with your socials and your name, so you can direct people to your custom drawing services, or merch gallery, whatever. I put my art up on reddit and my own website, and when i see people using it in places, i leave a friendly comment like " website x is where you got this from? thats cool, love your stuff too" I also embed my images with brand name mentions, in stylish ways, like signage.

yea pinterest is full of ideas not free for all content. Always check copyright before using anything.Just because it’s on Pinterest doesn’t mean I can download it and use it however I want

Another approach is to use pinterest strictly for inspiration take notes or create your own version of ideas rather than directly copying images or designs to stay safe legally.

A safer way is to treat Pinterest as a mood board capture concepts, colors or layouts then produce original work inspired by them instead of directly replicating anything.

I think copyright exists everywhere technically but it's not always enforced etc.
