I used to get spammed with cold emails. But for a over a few months have not gottent emails from strangers. Has cold emailing as marketing tactic stopped working

When you don't approach new ways, it's always dead in any sector, not just cold mailing. Rather than using the same ASN, try reputed nodes like Azure, Google, Ali Cloud, etc. Link with the latest MTA like MailerQ, ETC., or just ask ChatGPT. Nothing is plug and play you have to try again and again or pay someone who knows.

Good Luck :)

Cold emailing hasn’t stopped — but it has evolved. Many marketers now use better targeting, personalization, and smarter tools to avoid spam filters and improve deliverability. That’s probably why you’re seeing less low-quality spam.

It still works when done right, but the days of blasting mass lists with generic messages are mostly gone. Quality over quantity is the new approach.

This post does not belong to SEO section.

I have also observed that I also get less of these spam mails. May be gmail made it harder for them to reach inbox now.

They are going right into spam, they are getting less reliable, less people are using it now

Hello!
Cold email still works,
but better filters mean you just don’t see most of it anymore.

Cold email’s still around, it’s just harder to land in inboxes now. Filters are stricter, so only those doing warm-ups, low volumes, and personalization get through.

I think people shifted from mass blasts to more personalized/targeted outreach because spam mails are easily filtered now.

It works
It doesn´t work

Both are answers. One for those who know how to; the other for those who don´t.

It's not dead, it's just segregated. The garbage mass blasts you used to get are now almost entirely filtered out before they ever reach you. What's left (and what actually works!) is hyper-targeted, high-value outreach that doesn't even feel like a "cold email."

The game now is sending so few emails that they never trigger spam filters. We're talking 20-30 perfectly personalized emails per day per inbox, backed by full warm-up and human-like engagement. It's a margin game for experts only; for everyone else, it's indeed a complete waste of money.

Cold email hasn’t disappeared it’s just gotten harder to land in inboxes. Filters are way stricter now and you need properly warmed SMTPs to get a good inbox rate.

The low-volume, high-personalization crew is still eating. Everyone else is just feeding the spam folders. It's not a channel for spammers anymore.

Yes, it works, if you’re high-level about deliverability, personalize deeply, and keep it real.

Avoid: spammy templates, mass sending, flashy formatting, ignoring domain health.

Think quality, not quantity.

They work but mostly goes to spam
So before sending cold emails you need to warm up your email id
