Does coinbase auto change crypto addresses

I started using coinbase about a week or two ago,

And it seems they auto change address,
A user sent to coin to me and upon confirmation on coinbase ,I couldn't see the coins,

I checked my address to confirm the user sent the coins to the right address and found out the address is changed,

The question is ,does coinbase have custody of this coins or the coins are gone for live,

More so,if they do this,why don't they give specific notification ,than allowing people to loose their coins,

I simply need to know from other users if they do change their address

The addresses change as you use them. But the old addresses should still work, as they'll always only be tied to your own account and will never be reused anywhere else.
 
Coinbase does automatically generate a new address for a user after every transaction the user makes.
However, all addresses that have been generated for a user, will remain associated with that user's account forever and hence safe to re-use to receive any future payments.
So, if you (from Coinbase account) provided some existing receiving address to someone and you have not received the crypto, then it is either some mistake done by you and / or some mistake done by the person who sent you the crypto.
Most common mistake is network mismatch or wrong network. Example : selecting BEP-20 when in fact they intended to select ERC-20.

It was pure btc,

I don't think any mistake was made,
Checking all over again

issues,is I don't see the former address on my account
 
Have you checked the address on another website? Have the funds reached your address?
 
I know that at one time there was a kind of virus that is installed on the PC and when you pass a BTC address to send, automatically it fills in with the scammer's BTC address, even if you only copy-paste it changes automatically. see that it is not the same situation

OK, so as per what you say, you provided the sender the default Bitcoin receiving address (however, recheck on that please).
Every exchange supports various network (blockchain) protocols for various cryptos including Bitcoin.
Example, I can send and receive Bitcoin (in Binance) in default Bitcoin protocol or even in bep20, erc20, bep2, segwit.
Could it be that the sender sent it the wrong network protocol (blockchain). Request that sender to send you a url link of the transaction on the blockchain and that is the way you could find out.
What @NicolaeP mentioned is also a possible scenario.

Yes they issue a new address every time but you will still get money on old one.
 
Not really i am using coinbase from so many years now and still the address is same expect i got the option to change it and that’s really depends on me either i want it to not
