One client has bought one of my products, but he is from Puerto Rico and I did not realize that shipping from Walmart to Puerto Rico costs even 22$. (Newbie in this business)

So if I ship him this product I will lose about 10$.

But maybe it's better to lose 10$ than make worse my seller rating? What do you think?

Cancelling the order will add to your 'Transaction defect rate.' You should be able to see it in your Seller Hub under Seller Level.

If your account has too many defects you will get banned.

You're also likely to run into high shipping costs for Guam, Alaska, Hawaii, and possibly APO addresses.

^ While that is true. There are ways on how to safely do it without affecting your seller performance.
There are TWO options when you cancel an order
1. Out of Stock
2. Buyer wants to cancel the order

1 - it is definitely not good for your seller performance, once you get too many defects, you'll put on hold or i a review
2. this is the best option - ask the buyer nicely, and tell him/her the real situation. Most of the time they will agree to this.

I agree, I'd reach out and also word the email to ask them if they'd be open to covering the extra shipping fee or they can cancel without hassle.

Asking for additional money is against the terms of service and will get your account in trouble.

You could contact them and just admit you made a mistake on the shipping and ask them if they would be willing to cancel the order so your account doesn't get dinged. Maybe say you just lost your job and are trying to make some extra money. Apologize for not understanding how selling on eBay works.

Ah, wasn't aware about that. Thanks for clarifying

I asked my client to cancel the order and that's what he replied:

"good morning ! I received your message and I try to cancel but it indicates that it can no longer be done. If you are so happy to be able to cancel the item and return the money, I will appreciate it."

So the only option left for me is to cancel by myself?

Yes, cancel it by yourself, but do the option that 'buyer wants to cancel the order' so it won't affect your seller performance.
It won't add up to your defect rate for the month.
