Hi,

I used to do this back in 2016-17. I would cut and compile the videos by other users, watermark it with my website's name, post it on the YouTube, buy 1-2k views and the video would start ranking and getting recommended.

Is this trick still working in 2025?

It still works in 2025, you can also add comments and likes to make it look more organic, and buy replies to some comments. Make sure your buying good and working services from a reputable panel.
 
Yes it still works in 2025 especially if the source of the views is of high quality. Also take note that It will only rank it for a while.

They still works. Just make sure you optimize your title, description and add some tags for your targeted keywords.
 
The most obvious (and short term) value in buying YT views is to help make the account eligible for monetization. Like all BH tactics it's best to restrict use of it until you reach that immediate goal, then lay off it so as to avoid detection.

It works as long as you are content with doing it on every video until you get that same amount naturally. YouTube evaluates content in comparison with how previous videos by the same creator performed, so if they see a sudden drop-off in views because you decided not to purchase them initially, they'll possibly shadowban your videos going forward.
 
None of the panels i’ve tried have actually managed to rank, I’d be happy to know if someone knows one that actually does rank. I’ve tried different options and specifically bought views that rank through keywords searches as well.

YouTube Ads are the only reliable way to reach real viewers, can drive views from people interested in your content, and deliver better retention (but still requires creating engaging content to keep them engaged).

While buying views and editing other people's videos has worked in the past, with improvements to YouTube's algorithm and stricter policies, this strategy is no longer effective. YouTube has strengthened its controls and policies to prevent fraudulent practices, including buying views, fake engagement, or video spam.
