So I was looking at some YouTube account marketplaces, and on some new listings I noticed they’re botting their livestreams. But their regular uploads seem to have probably organic views, AI generated content with a reasonable number of comments, decent watch time, and at least 1 like per ~100 views. Except for the 24-hour livestreams. There, the ratio is more like 2,000 views with 1,000 likes. I spoke to one of them, and he didn’t really want to give too many details, but he said it helps increase impressions. Also, he was doing it on an already monetized channel. Is this a legitimate strategy to increase engagement with likes and thus increase overall impressions?

High like ratio can trick the algo into pushing the live and replay harder for a bit.
But 50% likes is blatant botting. YT catches that shit easy in 2026, especially on monetized channels. Lots get demonetized or worse.
Not worth the risk anymore, better legit promo.

Fake likes might look good for a short time, but they usually don’t really increase impressions and can cause problems later.

If it looks as natural and smooth as possible, in small amounts, it may help. The main thing is not to overdo it, otherwise I may just block it.

It helps increase views and supports boosting metrics for newly developed channels. This is also a method some people use to build channel credibility.

They will probably work briefly, however, if Youtube finds out you risk your account and channels getting banned.

Youtube looks at watch time and real retention more. Fake signals can get the channel flagged fast.

No, that's not a valid strategy. The ratio of 2,000 views to 1,000 likes is unusual. Distribution is broadened based on satisfaction signals such as retention, watch time per impression, returning viewers, and session impact. Fake likes don't improve those core metrics
But what kind of services would they be using? It looks like there were constantly concurrent viewers, with occasional comments and reactions. Also, the livestream never seems to open properly, it’s always loading or something. The same story was with 24-hour livestreams. The livestreams coincided with the channel’s biggest growth spike, reaching 10k–30k views per day on long-form content during that week while the livestream was active. The livestream itself appeared to be a massage video, since the main search keywords were massage-related, and the suggested videos were also mostly massage content, along with some other sketchy videos. Can someone explain the exact strategy they were using?
