I recently bought 10k followers on an Instagram account thinking it would help convert new followers and my engagement rate would eventually become better as the account grew. Is this true and does anyone have experience with anything like this?

It helps but it's not going to generate sales. You just have a bunch of Monopoly money and all you can do is make other people think it's real.

That's an incredible analogy. So for the growth do you think it's a good thing?

For the growth, it could be. People have this herd mentality that if they see an account with many followers and high engagement, they will eventually follow the account because they don't want to miss out. You would need some good content though.

Ok, thank you!

Absolutely! In my opinion it's a worthy investment. I run a SoundCloud repost account with 7.5k followers, 5k of which are fake. I'm getting 5-20 repost requests a month, which isn't much but it's undoubtedly due to the fake followers that make my repost account more likeable. :)
