Does buying backlinks actually work?

I recommend going for both, few backlinks of cheap quality, and more backlinks from high authority sites. Whis way your website will be crawled more, and from high authority sites you will get chance to rank better.

Yeap, quality, niche-relevant links helps ranking. invest on few solid automotive links than waste money on cheap, random ones. DA as just be metric, though...

Backlinks can help, but I’d focus on relevance and quality rather than price alone. In the automotive niche, links from relevant websites with real traffic are generally more valuable than cheap, unrelated links. Also, domain authority is a third party metric, so focus on rankings and organic traffic instead.
