I've been boosting HR views to a lot of Youtube videos lately with views but I'm not noticing any improvement with getting traffic to the videos. Has there been some big changes to Youtube? Or do you think it's possible that there is something wrong with my views provider?

Its hard to rank YT videos now a days. You might get ranked soon, but there is also a possibility of losing your ranking just like you were facing Negative SEO effects in google!

Just to give a hint, don't just rely on views and likes. Along with the typical yt seo, give much importance to the content including quality of the video and text in order to sustain the rankings for a long time.

retention rate, retention rate, retention rate. I've had videos with only 800 views outrank videos with 300,000.

As long as there is a system there will always be a way to beat the system. And if it didn't work why do you think Google/YT would invest millions in an algo that specifically targets retention view sellers?

The short answer is yes, it still works.

The long answer is you need to know what you're doing these days more than ever.

They are all retention views, but no links. Do you think that would have to do with what's going on?

I uploaded a video the other day and might have sent like one no-follow link from another website and that's it.

Do you guys think that will make a big difference if I send backlinks to the video?

Ranking videos is the same as it ever was just don't completely spam it for Google rankings. If u only want to rank on yt then just buy a fiverr gig of links and it'll move

I'm finding that ranking in Youtube is pretty easy. But then again, I never know what people are searching on Google since there is not any sort of keyword tool (I don't think).

But it's frustrating when it's not even showing up on related videos, or can't even find it in Google. I had one video I uploaded and then boosted 2000 views to, it sat for over a year now with basically no views.

Its possible to rank videos with HR views (Drip feed), Embedding video in web 2.0 sites created only for youtube video with perfectly spuned Content, meta tag, URl name, etc.
And blast those web 2.0 with Spammy links...
Perfect On page Optimization is Must..

I think there is is quite a bit to youtube ranking than a single factor. Try to get a balance of all and exercise patience.
