Its best to rank your own domains, use web2.0s as tier 1 links not aimed at ranking though they could fluctuate with time through the various algo updates.

I have few Blogspots and they are getting decent traffic
But i will not put my effort on them for competitive keywords

For ranking. Most Web 2.0 sites can be used as buffers. So I am more keen on ranking.

So you think if you have a unique 2000+ word article; put it on your own site in something like the blog section, as opposed to using it on a web 2.0 to add authority to your website?
