I have a blog that gets lots of spam comments like advertising and some random comments with links attached. I do have a spam filter to not allow these comments. But if I disabled the spam filter, and let the comments come in, would it help me with SEO on my site and get me more traffic?

I don't see any advantage to allowing tons of spam links get posted to your site. It also severely hinders the user experience for visitors to your site. Definitely not recommended.

Real comments without spammy links however are a good thing.

As a rule anything that makes for a bad user experience will also be bad for SEO.

No it would dilute the PR of the site.
Delete all spam comments. Only allow legit proper comments with no links.
