does backlink on facebook fan page helpful for PR rank?

Hi guys, i have read a ebook told me to creat keyword rich facebook fan page and link to own sites to get high pr backlink, but i found its nofollow link on fan page, so does facebook fan page backlinke is helpful for PR rank? thanks for help.

2. Does a link to your site from a facebook page help your SERP position

I would like to know aswell.

all though it may not help directly with serps I have found it does help with page being saturated. I have a facebook page for one of our business and when searching the main site is 1st 2nd was the facebook group page 3rd was a group member on twitter tweeting about our service. Not really got to do with facebook but 2 positions on the bottom were CL ads I had flogging a couple products to get them out of inventory. This I found interesting was for the shits and giggles I searched g00gle images and a wack of fb group members profile pics came up. Bang that off accompanied with some adwords campaigns and could have total page domination.
 
One thing you can do, is use your FB fan page as a buffer site, and link TO IT from some of your satellites, sending traffic then from your FBFP to your site. Get the fan page in the serps and bleed IT.

More importantly is if people share your link and paste it into their walls.

Facebook has publicly accused google of using facebook data to manage their SERPs.

No foolin, look it up.

it does help, nofollow dosn't matter for Internet superpowers (wikipedia, Twitter, Facebook) They help. It's not a waste of time. I've gained 100 visitors this month from ppl clicking my link in Wikipedia, totally DID NOT expect that. But thats 100 visitors I didn't have last month for adding a simple citation to a post related to my niche.
 
I don't understand people who say links on high traffic sites are useless. Won't pass the PR on, but it will be seen by webspiders and organics, and some people might click on it :D
