Hey!

It's been SO long since I've been here. 4 or 5 year ago I used to make crazy money just backlink-spamming YouTube video's.

I used software like GSA Search Engine Ranker to create thousands upon thousands of spammy links to a YouTube video, which would in turn rank it on Google.

The theory was that YouTube was a big site and owned by Google, so the algorithm didn't really care.

Would this still work now?

I never understood these “I made CRAZY money” “I was at the top of my game” “Was making a killing”...

Then... I quit, or I got a job, or something. If you were making money, you would’ve kept doing it. Stop the bs’ing.

To answer your question, most likely not. Google has come a long way in stopping mass spam since those days. But perhaps it’s worth a try, not really sure.

Massive backlinks will not guarantee a high ranking for YT videos nowadays, but massive backlinks will in turn get that page indexed and getting it stick in indexed status on the search engine.
But for low competition keyword, it could still climb to page1-2, but it also depends on how well that page is optimized for your keyword.

It is not as easy as before but with some quality/worth you can reach the top for a while. I'd say that just blasting doesn't work anymore. It is not like you can publish a video and buy a $5 Fiverr service and rank top 1.

Blasting it with low quality GSA links helps in low comp keywords. What I do instead is link to the video, playlist, and channel with decent quality PBN links.
