Does anyone of this prob with their previous account?

I was hj38 before bhf moved a few days ago and have tried contacting admin and waiting, but this is what basically happened.

* some of my post created by hj38 looks like its created by another user now
* I cannot sign up with the same email .. it says email exists in the db
* When I try to reset my password, the forum tells me that my email is not in the db.

I would like to have my account back, of course, but guess I am ok with starting fresh.

my question is

1: Does anyone have this same prob
2: Is the password reminder db and register db seperate instances in terms of the user email? (from my points above, it seems like it is)
3: Are the mods still trying to fix the db, or am I better off starting a new account?

any input on helping me resolve this issue will be greatly appreciated.

Try using your old password if you recently changed it. That's what happened to me.

I tried all pw and all didn't work. what is strange is that when I use the pw reminder tool, its telling me that my email doesn't exist.

Yes, a LOT of new accounts were lost when the DB crashed. They are gone permanently, there is nothing we can do to recover them. It shows the accounts as a "guest" now, but they are NOT in our DB. For some strange reason (vBulletin bug?), you will not be able to sign up with the same email address.

I can, however, manually rename your account. If you'd like to have your old account name in place of your new one, just send me a PM.

Looks like I'm better off starting up fresh.

I'm cool with my new user id. As for the vbullitin bug, my guess is that you have two db for the forum signup and user registration (tied in to your billing/donation system)

I think thats why where one side (vbullitin) is saying the email doens't exist, the other side that has the password reminder (billing/donation) is saying the email is already taken and require you to signup with an alternate address.
