It's late night, and I was doing some old school day of defeat gaming when the game minimized and this thing started "scanning". I've never seen it before, click, right click did nothing and, ctrl+alt+delete -> "processes" didn't show me anything unfamiliar. I'm pretty familiar with my PC and I have a paid version of webroot antivirus. I don't want to proceed to do anything important on my PC if it is infected.

Please let me know if you've seen this before and what it is.

I think you can run html code in loading screens of source engine games. I have seen a lot servers where people had running advertisings or youtube videos on servers.
Maybe they using servers to install malware or something.
