Does anyone know if you can get C# for a mac?

Friend of mine is asking this, its something I know nothing about.

Any ideas?

Yup, it's a free implementation of the .net framework and it's called MONO.

In addition to Mono, there's Parallels, which allows you to run Windows on a Mac, so your friend could just install Visual Studio on the virtual machine and go from there.

Parallels is what I use, so I can recommend it - assuming your mac is not very old.

In my opinion, if your friend wants to be a .NET programmer, then she should be using Windows and Visual Studio, preferably on an actual PC because that's the environment that the vast majority of end users of her software are likely to be using. Furthermore, Mono doesn't support all .NET features, so depending on what she wants to do, she may run into problems.
 
Why not VMware Fusion , to have windows , I assume it the best and I use it and have no probs
 
The best would be to use a regular PC with windows and a version of C# on it (even the freeware VC# Express version is suitable for most applications). If not, install Windows on a virtual machine and Visual Studio on top of it.
 
Ya if you have mac then will not face any problem to work with c#.
You will have to use it as in the mone or parallel.
I think you have your answer.
 
As per as i know c# is also workable in mac. Unless you do not try you never know that is it gonna happen or not.
 
Parallel is also good one. I used that and you can also have a try on that.
