Does anyone know how to get negative links taken down from search engines?

I'm not entirely certain if this is even possible but I've heard many rumors of it being true. I'd like to know if anyone knows how to get negative links and articles removed from google search results. I know that burying them down with positive content is possible but I'd really like to know if there's any way that links can be removed. Any help or guidance will be appreciated.

Was actually referring to stuff posted about people online that was negative

You can bury them by creating positive feedback and the like, use profiles and others to outrank the results. Might seem a tedious task but that's the way it is. You can hire services to do this for you, but I don't think there's a shortcut that will just simply remove the negative content in one click. (Unless you contact whoever made the negative content and have it taken down, for valid reasons).

Yes this is what I hear everywhere. I've also heard from a few sources (don't know how credible) that there are persons who can actually get them removed. As for the exact methods entailed, I don't know if it will be just the snap of a finger but I would imagine there to be a process involved.
