I smoke way to much and have been for like 25 years. I have been thinking about trying the e-cigarettes.
I know a lot of you guys sell them, but I am wondering if any of yall actually use them.
If you do, could you give me some insight on how they taste compared to a real cigarette. Maybe throw me out some brand names that have the best taste and decent prices.
I was ready to order the other day until I saw the shipping was like $12 at this one site. I even pretended to be checking out a $9 set of replacement cartridges and s&h was still $12 on a $9 purchase....FUCK THAT!
I would like to have real opinions from real users and not fake reviews and affiliate links. But this is a marketing forum so its hard telling what I will get.
Thanks and look forward to your replies.:drinking2 CHEERS!

I know a local guy who supplied them, so I tried them out for about three days and I honestly didn't mind them. I found them to be very close to the real thing and they seemed to do the trick as far as suppressing the urge for an actual smoke. It was a bonus being able to quench my nicotine habit in a public building again lol.

It's too bad I lost touch with him, as I'm also not really keen on ordering them off the web. I've been using chantix instead and that has really worked me (I've been smoking about 12 years).

    Hey jdog37,

Yes I use them, I will be honest, I saw them thought about selling them, I would in a heart beat now as I believe in them after using them. Tell you the truth I feel guilty that I didn't buy them from affiliate site, but I was at a smoke shop one day, and started talking to the owner and looking over three diff brands. I chose the brand "Fifty-One" because it was more realistic, (the tip lights up when you take a puff, it makes a sound like its burning lol, the vapor really looks like you are exhaling real smoke, it comes with a card that you can give to someone in case they try to have you kicked out of a non smoking establishment, More importantly, it comes with a lifetime replacement warranty, two cigs instead of one, a longer version, and a regular sized version.

The Fifty-One, has an assortment of flavors and have a system to help you reduce the amount of Nicotine over time. You start out with 12mg then work your way down till you wean yourself.

I never thought that they could work really but it was the best fifty bucks I spent. glad I didn't get the cheaper ones.

Now, it comes with no flavor in 12mg. tolerable, get use to the taste. Harsh at first, 12 mg is more than a kick. Then I went back as they gave me a coupon for (2) 5 pack replacement cartridges for only 6 bucks. So I thought why not try the different flavors in case I wanted to do a ..ahem.. review about them some day, LOL, so I got chocolate <<yes chocolate, and also coffee flavored. personally, I like the coffee the best.

My results from being an average 1.5 pack a day smoker, the first day, I had 1 real cig. Absolutely cured the craving.

I wanted to quit keep in mind. My GF wasn't ready. So from time to time I still buy a pack, I don't know why, cause I need to quit her maybe???

I sneak a cig from her every once in a while. Marbs are over 6 bucks a pack where I live.. the money I am saving from the wise investment and proper mindset is big time. Do the math.

In fact I never even had to work my way all the way through the lower mg's..

Also noted, thought I would be too embarrassed to use them at a bar.. I do not go out often any way, but when I have, it is very much a conversation starter!!

    Hope this helps.

I had a thought, if I kept Some on hand, It would be easy to sell them to drunk people at the bar.. LOL .....or not LOL.... Could be Lucrative.

P.S. Tip, Get rid of your lighters if you buy these, I kept trying to light the dam thing out of habit...

Thanks guys.. I'm not looking to quit just a replacement that won't make you hack half of your lungs out after 18 beers and 3 packs of marlboros.
If I could cut down to a pack a day of real smokes i would be happy.
I'm at 2 and a half to 3 packs right now (according to how many beers I drink)
I don't know if I could handle flavored cigs....would want something that tasted at least close to a real cigarette.

I used to sell e-cigarettes. One of the places I used for research was The Electronic Cigarette Forum. Most of the people on that forum are users of electronic cigarettes and by hanging out there, you can find out which brands are good and which ones suck. The forum is below:

    Code:
    http://anonym.to?http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/
NOTE: The above forum is NOT my forum. I am only posting the above URL as a means of helping the OP. - "Wiz"

I used them. I looked around on a forum for reviews, the one Wiz just posted, and ended up buying one from puresmoker[dot]com. (No relation to that site)

The flavors were actually amazing. I smoked peach and banana for about a week. However, I noticed that it made my teeth taste/feel like aluminum foil. It might have just been in my head, but I can't stand anything metal in my mouth --to the point where I only eat with plastic utensils, so I stopped using it.

Also keep in mind that if you don't like a lot of attention, like me, you'll be bombarded with questions and feel like an idiot using it in public.

I smoke mine all day.. been doing so for about a year and half, and I actually enjoy smoking the ecig more than I ever enjoyed smoking real cigs.

    I got this one:

    Code:
    http://www.totallywicked-eliquid.co.uk/products/electronic-cigarette-starter-kits/wicked-tornado-e-ni-or-electronic-3-product.html
together with the Parma Violet flavor:
    Code:
    http://www.totallywicked-eliquid.co.uk/products/totally-wickeds-dv-premier-range/totally-wickeds-36mg-decadent-vapour-product.html
No matter what ecig you choose, I advise you to go for one with a large battery.. I charge my batteries like 2-3 times a week, with some of the older ecigs I had to recharge daily..

    Good luck!

One of my co-workers dropped hers and it stopped working. Since I'm a "techi-type guy", she thought I could fix it. I am not sure if they work but I know they break really easy!

I haven't tried e-cigs (yet) though at the rate taxation and legal restrictions keep going I might. I do have a number of friends who have quit or are in process of quitting with their assistance.

I've also heard a lot of good things about Chantix, sounds like it uses negative reinforcement as part of its chemical strategy to help ya quit.

I noticed a sign at a restaurant last week that said "E-Cigarettes are not permitted to be smoked in the premises". WTF? Isn't that like one of the points of them - that they don't emit smoke and aren't going to be subject to bans like that?

Well from what I hear some states in the U.S. may be looking to ban the e-cig. Probably cause they can't charge the outrageous fucking taxes on them.
As far as a restaurant trying to restrict the use....I would like to see that.
I'm just the kind of guy that would order a huge meal and dare them to say something about my e-cig. I would either be eating for free, puffing my e-cig, or going to jail...

That is so completely ass-backwards that it wouldn't surprise me. Something intended to help people wean themselves from a destructive chemical...but since there are no huge tax revenues to be had, let's outlaw it.

I am moving so much more and more toward wanting the authorities to ban tobacco and booze in exchange for legalising pot.

Just started smoking mine about two weeks ago. Ordered from a site called boldcigs[dot]com. So far I am really impressed for what I paid for a starter kit.

WizGizmo is right, that e-cig forum is the place to go if you are interested in finding more info about e-cigs.

    Cheers,

Got mine at the 2010 AVN Expo (don't ask). They are called NJoy. They're alright and get the job done but the one thing I don't like is time. A normal cigarette will only last for so long before you put it out. This has been the norm for me for about 20 years. With ecigs you can smoke and smoke and smoke until the battery runs out (it takes a while). The other thing I don't like is if I forget to charge it up. I had a backup battery but I have no clue where it has gone. The final thing I don't like is that they don't piss off my mother-in-law. Guess I'll have to find something else for her to bitch about when we visit for the holidays.

This post is right on time for me. I've been thinking about quitting for a while and wondered if the E-Cigs were any good. I just checked out the forum that Wiz posted and damn, I never knew there were so many different brands and types out there. It's gonna take me a week or so just to learn the slang those guys use.

i started using an ecig about a year ago i just got it as a gadget i could use to get round the smoking ban in the bars where i live i had no intention of giving up but ended up giving up almost accidentally just cos i prefer the ecig and i was a pack a day smoker pretty damn cool things.

best supplier is totally wicked they are maybe just a little bit more expensive but everything they sell is top notch stuff (half the ecig stuff on the net is half assed chinese imports)

id probably reccomend a titan 510 as a decent easy to use reliable starter ecig looks like a cig lights up on the end etc.

    Code:
    http://www.totallywicked-eliquid.co.uk
plus if you use the coupon code 4B073 at checkout it gives you 7.5% off your
    order
