Hey guys,

So a friend of mine has a Microsoft Surface Pro 7 that he wants to sell. It's an unwanted gift and in excellent condition. I think I'm going to buy it, but I just wondered if anyone here has any experience with this machine and if so, do you use it for work?

All the best,

James :)

I used the Surface Pro 2. But then the screen broke, so I abandoned it

I use one. I like it. Never had a problem with it. Good storage and it’s quick. Only thing is it cost a lot but if you are getting a good deal then go for it.

For free? Just take it bro, those are pretty good hardware. Edit, I see it's not free. How much does he want for it?

£300. Box has been opened, but it's not been used. Comes with the keyboard as well.

Do you use it for your IM work?

Daang thats cheap, atleast where I live. Just make sure the hardware is fine and there's no scratches and so on..

Cheers bro. It's not been used or an account attached to it. Brand new basically. Defiantly buying it. Windows 10 pro on it too apparently.

Absolutely 100% buy it. If not anything, those are cool hardware.

Yeah man, I'm on it. Just done a search on the price for it new . With the keyboard it costs 4 times what I'm buying it for. Looks like a really nice little machine too.

Surfaces are great dependable devices. Reasonably priced too with decent battery life. The touch features are super convenient.

I have a Surface Pro i bought back in 2017. But it sits in my drawer now waiting to be used when i'm on a vacation. I hated it and wished i didn't buy it for these reasons:

1. After 3 months, the Wifi stopped working. Went to have it fixed and said that the wifi adapter needs to be replaced. Turns out the Marvel Wifi adapter it came with had a lot of issues with all the Surface Laptop models at that time so there's no way to fix it once it stopped working. I tried everything by doing hard resets, updating, downgrading adapter drivers, etc., searched the interwebs for the fix with no luck. So i just bought a Wifi USB dongle. Can you imagine how frustrating that was because it had only 1 usb slot so i had to buy a usb dongle and then the wifi usb dongle. One guy out of nowhere actually thought i was RFID stealing people's information in a cafe.

2. The detachable keyboard is a plus, but mostly it's a nightmare. After a few months the surface have a hard time detecting the keyboard so i had to snap it back and forth a few times for it to get detected. And yes, i cleaned the connector.

3. After a few months the touch-screen started malfunctioning. It's such a nightmare i can't even explain in words. Seemed like a ghost finger kept touching the screen out of nowhere that some of my programs started executing. Due to my frustration i had to disable the touch screen driver.

Overall, i only like it for the mobility and aesthetics but i am never getting a pro again.

Thanks for the detailed reply man :)

Hopefully I wont have these issues as it's the latest model, but you never know.

PS, I would have loved to see your conversation with the guy in the cafe. I hope you told him to f off!

James :)
