Does anyone here think there would be a confiict between affiliate programs and ad network like google adsense?

Have anyone tried any experiment upone these two? I am thinking, if the adsense program always shows the similar ads (maybe the same products that you have written about) on your content blog site, which you've written about in review articles, then some of the visitors might click the ads instead of your link? It's just my thought and don't know if they interact with each other. Closing the relevant ads will lower your income as well. Anyone cares to share your ideas?
