Does anyone here ever hustle EDU links to profs?

Profs love to link to high quality resources from their edu domain.

If your website was in the same industry as the course, you could potentially offer some valuable content around the focus of the course and send it to the prof. They read all emails.

Example: http://www.cs.toronto.edu/~lalla/373s16/resources.html

The above is a course I'm in, graph theory. If I wrote a graph theory article on my blog and emailed it to my prof, she would respond and she'd probably be happy to post a link to it.

The old downside is some profs delete their websites at the end of the semester but others don't.

Has anyone ever tried to get a link from a professor?

It is funny you say that, I was thinking of the same thing these days. My university has a section of their website where they cite blogs that talk about the school and the town. I was thinking of writing a few articles on the subject on a new money site with a vague name. Then I would have them link to it and change it to a money site afterwards. Free high CF/TF links.

Absolutely. Or even just find a course at your school that your site is related to and cater some content towards it.

This is really very useful. Just a little bit of social engineering and you can get a lot of good links out of it. Professors get very wet around students who have knowledge of what they are teaching. And you don't even need to be in their class to get those links. Go to the department of your topic, let's say econ, or marketing, check out their office hours and knock on a couple of doors. Of course if you have money to pay for links here then good, but getting an above 80 authority link for no work whatsoever is def. worth it. It probably does work better with ad sense websites though. Affiliates might throw them off.

I used to contact some students who have personal edu blog and ask them to put my resource link on their edu blog and it works most of the time. But my concern is the OBL on that page. Do you recommend to place our link on an EDU resource page with high OBL?
