Does anyone feel like TikTok changed the way content gets pushed recently?

A few months ago, good hooks + fast engagement were usually enough to get traction.
Now it feels more random:
  • some videos die instantly
  • others suddenly take off 24–48h later
  • smaller accounts sometimes outperform old and scalable ones
Feels like retention & audience matching matter way more than follower count now.

Curious what you guys are seeing lately — delayed pushes, lower consistency, or just more competition?

Yeah, it definitely feels different lately. Reach seems way more inconsistent now compared to before. Some videos die instantly while others randomly take off hours or even days later. It also feels like TikTok is pushing search-based and niche content more instead of only viral trends. Videos with clear topics, keywords, and strong watch time seem to last longer now. At the same time, recycled trends and copied content don’t seem to perform as easily as they used to. Could just be another algorithm shift, but a lot of creators seem to be noticing the same thing recently.

totally agree we cannot get to know the algorithm anymore, even with the high quality video it still cannot go viral
