Does anybody here send a Direct Message to every new follower?

Personally, I don't, but I might be missing out on some marketing.

So does anybody (probably using an automated tool), send a Direct Message to every new account that follows you?

I read the limits are 500 daily.

I don't do it and would recommend not doing it unless your account sends "h0rny at home click my link xoxo" and you have
many accounts to burn

To thank them for their follow, asking them to check out your website etc. Lots of reasons.

There might be some benefit to welcome messages for new followers, mostly if the follower is not a bot. Could build that initial rapport that opens up a decent marketing opportunity.

Exactly my thinking.

If they follow, the chances are they are interested in what your account is about. So a DM asking them to check out your website, follow other social media profiles, etc could make sense.

I never send a DM to the followers. I receive DM's too that I never open so I wonder if I send them why would anybody open that?
Also it might be annoying to them.
Unless I have something important to tell I do not PM the followers.
