I'm looking for an affiliate program that has a product catalog that fits my needs, and in that regard CafePress seems like a good option.

However, doing a search of their consumer and affiliate reviews shows a less than favorable reputation...
Which isn't unheard of on the internet - maybe they just need one of you to do ORM for them ;)

Much of my potential merchandise is a specific kind of clothing, accessory, and its accompanying recreation.

  • What would the benefits be of using CafePress rather than Amazon, or visa versa?

  • Would you guys recommend it?

  • Do you have experience with them doing shady things, or consumer complaints about their products?

Thanks all!

P.S. - Am I ignorant for not knowing whether or not you can affiliate with multiple programs on the same website - even the same page? I think you can... but can somebody please answer this for me :o

Damn... nobody?
Maybe I should have posted in a more popular part of the forum in order to get more exposure... poor Commission Junction doesn't get much love these days :P

I don't want to read again but OP mentions Commission Juction? Amazon is more well rounded ways to sell and earn $. CafePress takes your designs and can print them on stuff then you sell w/ markup. You can't buy a Murray 489000x8 carburetor on CafePress

I sold a few items with Cafe Press and I think I made like $6 ($2 per $30 item).

Commissions honestly suck at all of the clothing fulfillment websites.

Cafepress is fine, but I would also do zazzle, it's also great, you can double your sales. I made $3 on cafepress and $7 on zazzle, I uploaded the same design to both sites on multiple products.
P.S.
I only uploaded 1 design, not 50

I have been successful making money with cafe press. Although, not through their affiliate program, never made a cent. I put up many many designs, no idea exactly how many. I tried to put 2 new designs up a day and stuck with this for a couple years. It took a while to start seeing a return on the time I invested. But what I can say is that I haven't added a new design in over 3 years and still make a passive income from cafe press of around $300-500 a month. I wish I had the time or interest to scale this to a much larger monthly payout, but As I mentioned it takes quite a while for cafe press to promote your designs. I guess if you promoted them yourself that you could make even more. I just never had the time or desire. Hope this somewhat answers your question.
